Freight needs to get moved – and you are the crucial middleman between manufacturers and freight transportation services. Although we don’t own logistics equipment and trucks, your role is an essential one for the logistics business.
As an account manager, you will negotiate shipping costs, locate the most efficient shipping route, prepare the necessary documents, and track the location of cargo in transit from start to finish. In order to be successful at this, you will need to create and build ongoing relationships with customers, manufacturers, and carriers to use as resources. You will communicate via telephone and email, navigate websites and databases, and utilize McLeod computer software on a daily basis.
Requirements:
- Excellent listening and communication skills
- Personal drive and reliable work ethic
- Ability to multi task and prioritize
- Experience with Microsoft Office - Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- High school degree or equivalent
